RITES OF PASSAGE CLASS OF 2015


The DuBois Institute, a not for profit organization, focused on community-building through youth and their family empowerment. Based in the city of Riverside’s Eastside (a historically Latina/o and African American neighborhood of Riverside), the DuBois Institute is on the front lines of at-risk youth intervention. Under the leadership of its Founder and Executive Director, the Dubois Institute has designed a diverse group of programs that address youth, their families, and community, and thus gets to the heart of community needs. From after-school and Saturday tutoring and mentoring, college prep and offering community colleges courses, a community scholars forum, counseling, computer skills, and martial arts classes

DuBois Institute offers youth the skills for achieving academic and personal excellence and individual and community empowerment. The goal of the Du Bois Institute is to decrease the social problems that destroy the human potential of youth and families and to increase their life chances/opportunities and potential for success. Founded in 2000, the Institute already has a strong record of accomplishment through mostly volunteer efforts
